Setting up an installation
-
A first-run setup in the browser (since 2026.10.20). An empty installation generates its own secrets, migrates itself and answers only its setup page, behind a one-time code printed on the host. The wizard covers:
- checks, the instance and the organization;
- where files are kept;
- sign-in and the first administrator;
- mail, antivirus and demo data.
Everything it decides becomes a setting the operator can change later from the console.
-
Images for amd64 and arm64 under one tag (since 2026.10.20).
-
An installation file (since 2026.11.0). A Docker Compose file comes with each version and needs five settings. Every version's test gate starts it exactly as it ships (since 2026.11.1).
-
Backup and restore (since 2026.11.0). Two scripts back up and restore the database, the files and the instance's own keys together.
-
Measured memory (since 2026.11.0). About 600 MiB for Quasar's containers on macOS and Linux; on Windows, a WSL2 virtual machine of about 2.1–2.6 GiB. ClamAV needs about 1 GiB more. Details in Deployment, tenancy and security.
