Code-hosting platforms with built-in agents
Platforms that host the repository and track issues next to it. By 2026 you can assign an issue directly to the platform's coding agent, which opens a branch and a pull request, and the platform's MCP server lets external agents in under the user's permissions.
Where they are stronger today:
- The issue, the code and the agent that writes it live in one place, with no integration to set up.
- Their agents run in the platform's own build environment.
Where Quasar differs:
- Host-neutral. Quasar observes GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket Cloud alike, so planning does not depend on where the code lives.
- Bring your own agent. Quasar does not run a coding agent. It is the place where any agent — and the people supervising it — plan, record and are held to the same rules.
- Observes, never writes. Quasar never touches the repository: it reads where each issue's code is and proposes the git commands, rather than acting on the code.
- A project's whole lifecycle. Planning across many repositories and non-code work, schedules and Gantt, time and money, quotes, document review and releases.
